Here we visit Hednesford on 11th July 1993 and the first meeting I ever covered 'officially' - the National Bangers Championships. This was the meeting that saw the infamous Rob "Knocker" Day and John "Autobutcher" Greenwood crash which we firstly feature here. These days Rob supports son Karly who is a regular on the EA tracks and also an occasional member of the Bears team. Meanwhile we understand that John, who emigrated to America soon after this event and took part in several Demolition Derbies over there, may well be returning to this country soon. Of course the day was not all about just one crash. The rest of our pics include Wayne French exploding into flames in the DD and also getting a hit from Richard Atkins (121). Phil Rogers (77) keeps his impossibly trashed car going in reverse, whilst Atkins goes head to head with Colin Wheatley (89).Finally a couple of pics from the Street Stox Figure of Eight. Derek Price (103) dishes out a large hit on the intersection, whilst Dave Bell (177) does the same to team mates 86 (who I believe to be Dave Hale) and 325, whose names escapes me at present!
