Action from the Formula Ford Festival in what we believe to be 1989. It was certainly a very wet Festival from what I can recall (which isn't actually that much! - Age must do that too you) The Festival has always been one of my favourite events on the calendar - In the 80s it was very much THE place to be, but it lost a little bit of its sparkle when the Zetec engined cars, and now Duratech, replaced the trusty Kents. But still well worth a visit at the tail end of October. Here we see a wild ride from Irish racer, Vivion Daly. Despite landing the 'other' side of the tyre wall, Daly was unhurt. The quality of these pics are not so good because, as is usually the case at the Festival, the final was held in near darkness, it was absolutely chucking it down at the time too! Unfortunately I have subsequently found out that Vivion, brother of former Grand Prix driver, Derek, died in 2002.
