Brisca F1 Stock Cars and we head to Hednesford on 20th March 1988. After many years absence due to concerns over the wall, this meeting heralded the return of the premier league to the Staffs Raceway. Personally it was my first glimpse of a "proper" F1 meeting as up till that point I think I had only seen a couple of out of season dates. The first thing that became apparent to me was just how much the Brisca F1 fans were totally devoted to their formula. They were bedecked in badges and madly keen on their formula (and so they should be) Their intolerance of the other formulas on that day though was also apparent! Still, it was a good crowd and a good atmosphere. The first racing photo shows the legend that is John Lund, awaiting the start. Frankie Wainman Jnr was a blue top at this time but he wouldn't stay at that grade for long, despite his best efforts to clear the west bend fence in the first photo I ever took of him.  Fast forward a year or so and we see Wainman again trying to complete his stunt, this time as a red top. This pic actually taken on 8th October 1989. Finally flip back to 1988 and Wainman hard at work in the pits. Things haven't changed much in 20 years really!
