Brisca F1 Stock Car action to start with and the 1988 World Final was held at Hednesford over the weekend of 10-11th September. John Lund (top) was the winner of the fantastic final. The World Final featured the first ever appearance of a lady driver - 309 Jayne Bean - pictured here and then we see Southern star, Bobby Burns on the parade too. Dave Berresford (260) came close int he World race whilst Chris Elwells (501) problems occured on the Saturday. Paul Lowe is the roller - also on Saturday whilst amongst the drivers attacking the West Bend armco are Sjaak Valk, Terry Jackson and Derek Coleman.

Bomber Team race action now from 27th May 1989. The first photo shows Task Force legend, Jim Edge, spinning Steve Benton into his own team mate. Then we see Tim Horne rolling Mick Charlton along the back straight banking and then finally another legend - Reg Hartopp - in familiar pose!

For our Rod racing this week we look at the formative years of the Lightning Rod class. Before it became a Sierra only formula a few different makes were allowed, such as the Ford Cortinas pictured here during a practice session at Birmingham Wheels in 1989.

Onto our circuit racing action now and we head off to Brands Hatch and a crash from popular Formula Ford racer, Johnny Oxborrow. Oxborrow used to build his own chassis (prefixed OX....) and as you can see here - has a hand in dismantling them too! I cannot be too sure of when this was but will add dates and details when I find them.
